stuff

Alot of stuff has happened in the past couple of weeks, and I have to say...I'm really proud of myself for all the hard work I did.

So I've been practicing my butt of for this big audition for Mason Gross. Everyday I sang my repertoire for an hour...over and over until I hit the high notes just right. Then I'd get some extra help from the best voice professor Brookdale has to offer. Sadly, during the week before the audition date, my old voice teacher who inspired me to pursue a career in music....decided to become a monster and yelled at me about how bad I was at singing. I knew she was going through some bad events at home, and she decided one day to take it all out on me...like I was a mental punching bag for her. She's always been mean to me in the past, but I was able to brush it aside and worked in my own pace. But this one day, she went off on me and bashed my dreams into the dirt. She basically screamed that me horrible things; like I'm not going to get into this school, I'm pursuing a useless career, and that I'm going to end up working at shoprite for the rest of my life. She bashed my dreams and made me cry...so I ended up firing her. I didn't even have the courage to call her so my mom had to do it. She yelled at my mom, which surprised me because she's never done that in the 10 years that I've known her. Anyway, she's gone...

After I fired her, I continued to practice with the Brookdale voice teacher and also got a chance to sing my audition selections in front of the head of the voice department at Mason Gross! That gave me more confidence to work even harder.

I also got a job at Home Depot, which helps me out of my financial woes :)

Finally, the day of the audition arrived and I sang the best I could...under alot of pressure and nerves. It's was a hectic, long day but I pulled through.

In the end, even if I didn't get accepted into the school of my dreams...I know that atleast I did my best and worked so hard. I got really far and improved so much in such a short period of time. I succeeded in alot of things I would never imagine I could. I know I have to ability to succeed in a career in music.

And I know my determination will get me far...
